Hundreds of millions of dollars have been raised for breast cancer research since the event’s founding. Proceeds predominantly go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization, the nation’s largest grassroots fundraising group for breast cancer programs.

And every step that Eileen and her team take, brings us all one step closer to a world free of breast cancer.

The net proceeds from the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™ are invested in breast cancer research and community programs.

Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan G. Komen, she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became Susan G. Komen for the Cure and launched the global breast cancer movement.

Komen for the Cure is the world's largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. In 2010, Komen for the Cure strengthened its commitment to the Breast Cancer 3-Day, by becoming the organizer of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure™. It's the same bold event with the same incredible spirit, but now under a new banner that brings it closer into the fold of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® family of events.
