Melissa Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since that time, she has worked with the pediatric population, providing treatment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Downs Syndrome, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Cerebral Palsy, Mobius Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, and varying fine motor and visual motor integration deficits. Most recently, at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit, Melissa has provided itinerant Occupational Therapy services as well as conducted evaluations with diagnostic teams for incoming students in order to determine eligibility for services. Melissa views her role as that of a problem solver, serving as a valuable resource for therapists and teachers, alike, in order to determine appropriate services incorporating a best practice approach. Melissa is widely recognized as a team leader and a dedicated individual who strives to provide services for children that will enable them to become successful students by working with professionals through a collaborative model. In addition to serving as Director of Clinical Services with PTS, Inc, Melissa maintains a small caseload treating children through a home based agency as a contractor, and teaches at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia’s OT program as an adjunct professor.
